Among major technology companies, AI has become a hot topic
recently as the field of artificial intelligence is expanding. As a result,
skilled and talented AI experts are in high demand. Recent events are very
important to prove those claims. What happened was those three engineers, two
of them from IITs, were highly sought after by IT Giants in the United States.
The news said that Google and Apple had a disagreement over
the two IIT engineers who would help them expand their AI offering. According
to the report, Google and Apple are fighting to hire three key engineers,
Srinivasan Venkatachary, Steven Baker and Anand Shukla.
These three developers played a critical role in modernizing
Apple's search technology and used to work for Apple. They joined Google last
year to work on Large Language Models (LLMs), the core technology behind
chatbots like Microsoft's acquired ChatGPT.
According to the report, which cites two people who have
spoken to Venkatachary, Google CEO Sundar Pichai "freed" the three to
work for his company, while Apple CEO Tim Cook "tried to keep them
stay".
Almost all the engineers from IIT 2 are the CEOs of Google
and Apple
Shukla received his B.Tech in Computer Science from
IIT-Kanpur in 2001, and attended the University of Illinois for his master's
program. He founded Laserlike Inc. with Venkatachary and Baker after spending
more than 12 years working there.
Laserlike Inc. Was later purchased from apples. It joined
apple in 2018 and stayed there for more than four years before switching Google
and November of the last year.
Venkatachary graduated from IIT-Madras in 1996 with a degree
in Computer Science. He attended Washington University in St. Louis to earn his
master's degree in computer science. Like Shukla, Venkatachary spent six years
at Google before spending four years at Apple. He returned to Google as vice
president of engineering in October.
Along with Venkatachary and Shukla, Baker also left Apple
and joined Google. Their decision to return to Google greatly angered Apple,
which is developing its search strategy with Google, according to Information.
