One of the highly anticipated films of the year is
Thalapathy Vijay starrer Leo, helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film will
release in October. On June 22, the first single, ‘Naa Ready’ was
unveiled on the occasion of Vijay’s birthday. But, the song has landed in
trouble as an activist named RTI Selvam has filed a complaint against the actor
and the team for glorifying drug usage.
As per the reports, the complainant filed an online
complaint against the film with Chennai Police Commissioner urging to take
action against Vijay under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The
complainant claims that the song encourages drug abuse and glorifies it.
Reports have previously revealed that Leo is a part of
Lokesh Kanagaraj’s cinematic universe comprising Kamal Haasan’s Vikram and
Karthi’s Kaithi. Several reports have also stated that the movie is a
remake of the Hollywood flick, A History of Violence, helmed by David
Cronenberg.
