Renowned filmmaker SS Rajamouli has long expressed his
desire to bring the epic Mahabharata to the silver screen. However, recent
developments suggest that director Trivikram Srinivas will be taking on the
ambitious project before Rajamouli. Readers may recall that Trivikram and
popular actor Allu Arjun are set to collaborate on a film. Interestingly, it is
said that the upcoming flick will serve as a modern adaptation of two
lesser-known parvas (chapters) from the Mahabharata.
For the unversed, soon after the project was announced
yesterday, July 3, speculation on social media suggested that the film could be
a socio-fantasy project. However, as per a report by Mirchi 9, reliable sources
close to the makers have confirmed that it will indeed be a contemporary
retelling of the ancient epic. Drawing inspiration from Mani Ratnam's acclaimed
film Dalapathi, which featured superstars Rajinikanth and Mammootty, this
new venture aims to captivate audiences with its fusion of mythology and modern
storytelling.
Going by Trivikram’s filmography, he is stepping into a
project that aligns with his strengths. The film is expected to push creative
boundaries under his directorial vision, promising an unforgettable cinematic
experience. Backed by Haarika and Hassine Creations in association with Geetha
Arts, this collaboration between Allu Arjun and Trivikram holds tremendous
potential to leave a lasting impact on the industry.
However, it is worth mentioning here that the makers have
neither confirmed the news nor shared any details regarding the story of the
upcoming film. Speaking of Trivikram and Allu Arjun’s previous collaborations,
Julaayi, S/O Satyamurthy, and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, all of them worked well
at the box office.
