A strong storm in Asani hit the east coast, bringing a
strong wind at 105 km / h, amid signs of a slow decline on Tuesday, the Indian
Meteorological Office (IMD) said.
The storm, which was moving at 25 km / h on Monday, slowed
to 5 km / h because it was about 300 km southeast of Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh
and 510 km southwest of Gopalpur in Orissa.
The system is expected to repeat on Tuesday night and will
also operate off the coast in a north-easterly direction.

"The severe cyclonic storm has already started losing
steam and it will further weaken into a cyclonic storm during the next 24 hours
as it nears the coast and makes the recurve," Bhubaneswar Regional
Meteorological Centre Director H R Biswas said.
He said the speed of the strong wind dropped to 80-90 km / h
on Tuesday night and to 60-70 km / h on Wednesday night.

The MeT department warned fishermen to enter the deep sea
until Thursday, as Orissa is preparing for heavy rains in coastal areas. Rain
was recorded in Ganjam, Puri and Khurda on Tuesday morning.
Conditions at sea are expected to remain very high on
Tuesday, worsen on 12 May and then improve.
Due to the storm, it rained heavily to moderately in Orissa
and West Bengal on Monday.
