Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials recovered the chopper from Avinash Bhosale's property in Pune last week.

The ED issued two preliminary attachment orders under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA) against the two.

The probe agency is probing Yes Bank co-founder Rana Kapoor and DHFL promoters Kapil Wadhawan and Dheeraj Wadhawan based on an FIR filed in 1988 alleging that Mr. Kapoor "entered into a criminal conspiracy" with Kapil Wadhawan and others to provide financial assistance to DHFL through Ja Bank in exchange for kickbacks to him and his family members through the companies he owns.

The ED alleged that Rana Kapoor induced Yes Bank to invest Rs 3,700 crore in short-term non-convertible bonds of DHFL and Rs 283 crore in DHFL Masala bonds. At the same time, Kapil Wadhawan made an installment of Rs 600 crore through DHFL on the pretext of a loan to one of Rana Kapoor's companies. The agency said investigations revealed that immediately after Yes Bank transferred ₹3,983 crore to DHFL, the latter sanctioned Rs 2,317 crore as a loan to Sanjay Chhabria's Radius Group in the name of development. in its 'Avenue 54' project in Santacruz, Mumbai. Sanjay Chhabria then diverted the same without using it for the declared purpose, the ED said.

The investigating agency further accused Sanjay Chhabria of conspiring with Avinash Bhosale and diverting funds to his various companies. "Furthermore, Avinash Bhosale was in connivance with Kapil Wadhawan of DHFL and received approximately Rs.71.82 crores from DHFL in respect of rendering certain services to DHFL and other entities. However, the so-called services were not provided and the same is being used by Mr. Avinash Bhosale for his beneficial use, ” said ED. The CBI last week during further searches in the case also found paintings and watches worth several crores.

The investigating agency stated that articles worth several million crowns were purchased from the diverted funds.

Two paintings by FN Souza (1964) and another by SH Raza (1956) worth Rs 5.50 crore (approx); two Jacob & Co and Frank Muller Geneve watches worth Rs 5 million (approx) and gold and diamond jewelery including bangles and necklaces worth Rs 2 million (approx) were seized.

The ED had earlier attached properties worth Rs 1,412 crore, seized 5 luxury cars from the Wadhawans with an estimated value of Rs 12.59 crore and also included property worth Rs 600 crore of Rana Kapoor in the case. The agency arrested Kapil Wadhawan, Dheeraj Wadhawan and Ran Kapoor earlier this year. They are still in court.

The ED also arrested Sanjay Chhabria and Avinash Bhosale in June; both are also in court.
