Team Govindas of Jai Jawan Govinda Pathak set a Guinness
World Record for the tallest human pyramid, crushing a dahi handi at a height
of 50 feet in Mumbai.
They created the tallest human pyramid during the recent
Dahi Handi festival in the city, surpassing Spain and China to enter the
prestigious Guinness Book of World Records.
The team broke their own record, creating a pyramid nearly 7
feet taller than their previous record.
NOT THE FIRST RECORD
In August 2012, Jai Jawan Govinda Pathak's team created a
13.34 m human pyramid in Thane consisting of nine levels. Teams from Spain and
China equaled India's scores in October 2012 and July 2015.
Every year Mumbai celebrates the Dahi Handi festival on
Janmashtami where a large crowd gathers to witness it. The young Govindas wear
colorful clothes and form a human pyramid to reach the clay jar of buttermilk
and suspend it in the air.
All arrangements for the safety of the Govindas were made.
