Director Om Raut's Adipurush has been seeing a gradual
decline in theatres after a fantastic opening weekend. The film features
Prabhas as Lord Ram.
Prabhas and Kriti Sanon-starrer, Adipurush, is tanking at
the box office worldwide after negative reviews and controversies. The Om
Raut-directorial venture had a fantastic opening weekend and grossed over Rs
300 crore in just three days. However, since Monday, June 19, the film has been
seeing a gradual decline in collection and is refusing to pick up momentum.
Adipurush, which is one of the most-anticipated films of
2023, released in theatres on June 16. The film released in multiple
languages amid massive expectations.
It is safe to say that Adipurush is heading towards Rs 400
crore at the box office worldwide. But, it looks like the film will end up as a
huge disaster considering the current situation. For the uninitiated, Adipurush
was made on a massive budget of Rs 500-600 crore.
In India, the film crossed Rs 250 crore net. After six days
of theatrical run, Adipurush minted Rs 255.30 crore at the domestic box office.
Going by the early estimates, the film is said to have earned approximately Rs
7.50 crore in India on Wednesday, June 21. The film's occupancy rate on June 21
stands at 9.44 per cent.
Adipurush is a mythological tale which is based on Valmiki's
Ramayana. Written and directed by Om Raut, the film features Prabhas as
Raghava, Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh and Kriti Sanon as Janaki. Sunny Singh and
Devdatta Nage play supporting roles in the film.
There have been calls for a ban against Adipurush, where
several outfits have claimed that the film has hurt the sentiments of Hindus.
