Pamela Chopra, wife of late producer-director Yash
Chopra, who was a writer and singer, has died at the age of 74. This news was
reported on April 20, 2023. According to reports, he was admitted to Lilavati
Hospital in Mumbai in the last 15 days and died due to stomach related
ailments.
YRF released an official statement on Thursday that read,
“With a heavy heart, the Chopra family would like to announce that Pamela
Chopra, 74, passed away this morning. Her funeral took place at 11 am today in
Mumbai. We appreciate your prayers and the family would like to ask for privacy
during this time of great sadness and reflection. "
Pamela Chopra has worked as a singer, fashion designer and
writer and has been credited as a producer on many Yash Raj Films films. He has
been recognized as the author of Kabhie Kabhie and the designer of clothes in
Silsila and Sawaal. He sang for films like Kabhie Kabhie, Noorie, Kaala
Patthar, Chandni, Silsila and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge among others. Chopra
was last seen in YRF's documentary series The Romantics to celebrate the
studio's 50th anniversary. He spoke about his journey, Yash Chopra's long
career and how Aditya Chopra carried on the legacy.
In addition to her work in film production and philanthropy,
Pamela Chopra is the author of a book titled 'Romancing with Life: An
Autobiography', which was published in 2014. The book provides insight into her
life, her relationship with her husband Yash Chopra and his experience in the
Indian film industry. Pamela Chopra has two sons Aditya Chopra and Uday Chopra.
