Sanya Malhotra's latest endeavor, "Mrs," is
generating buzz as it gears up for its world premiere at the prestigious
Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival 2023. This Hindi adaptation of the Malayalam
hit "The Great Indian Kitchen" boasts a stellar cast, including Sanya
Malhotra, Nishant Dahiya, and Kanwaljit Singh, and is backed by the production
talents of Jyoti Deshpande, Pammi Baweja, and Harman Baweja.
Having made waves with her remarkable performance in the
blockbuster "Jawan," Sanya Malhotra is poised to make her mark on the
international stage with "Mrs." The film's debut screening is
scheduled for November 17, 2023, at the 27th edition of the Tallinn Black
Nights Film Festival, taking place from November 3 to November 19, 2023.
Director Arati Kadav teased glimpses of the film on her
Instagram account, expressing her excitement about the world premiere. She
conveyed, "Happy to announce the World Premiere of our film Mrs at 27th
Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (Poff). We all are super duper thrilled to
be part of the lineup." Sanya's international journey is set to commence
here, and she expressed her gratitude to Baweja Studios and Jio Studios for this
incredible opportunity, giving special thanks to Harman Baweja. She also
acknowledged the remarkable cast and crew, whose hard work and dedication
brought this project to fruition, promising more details to come.
The film's synopsis, as found on the POFF website, offers an
intriguing look into the narrative: "The exotically delicious film guides
us through Indian cuisine, but layer by layer reveals the unfortunate role of
women who only cook, clean, and submit to sex-addicted hubbies. Dance teacher
Richa has an instant connection to the wealthy doctor Diwakar but soon finds
herself in an overcooked and tasteless happily ever after laced with misogyny,
arrogance, and stubbornness. The kitchen has the solution to all problems. So,
Richa cooks splendid dishes with love and dedication and refuses to yield to
male dominance."
"Mrs" promises to be a thought-provoking and
eye-opening cinematic experience, shedding light on the complexities of
traditional gender roles within the backdrop of a culinary journey. With its
talented cast and promising storyline, it's a film that's certainly worth
keeping an eye on.
