Legendary music composer and singer Bappi Lahiri, known as
Bollywood's disco king, died in a Mumbai hospital on Tuesday night. He is 69
years old. The singer breathed his last at 11:45 p.m. at Juhu Criticare
Hospital. Bappi Lahiri's funeral will take place tomorrow, February 17,
following the arrival of his son Bappi Lahiri from the United States
Bappi Lahiri delivered popular songs in many films from the
late 1970s and 1980s, such as "Chalte Chalte", "Disco
Dancer" and "Sharaabi". His latest Bollywood song called Bhankas
then for the 2020 film 'Baaghi 3'.
"Lahiri had been admitted to the hospital for a month
and was discharged on Monday. But his health deteriorated on Tuesday and his
family called for a doctor to visit their home. He was brought to the hospital.
He had multiple health issues. He died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea)
shortly before midnight," Dr Deepak Namjoshi, director of the hospital,
told new channel.
The singer's last appearance on screen was Salman Khan on
the reality show Bigg Boss 15, where he promoted his grandfather's 'Baccha
Party' song, his grandfather Swastika.
In April last year, the singer was admitted to Breach Candy
Hospital in Mumbai after being positive for Covid. He recovered a few days
later
