In a recent turn of events, it has been revealed that
Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is stepping in to assist fellow actor Sunny
Deol in a time of financial trouble. Reports surfaced stating that Sunny Villa,
a property owned by Sunny Deol situated in Mumbai's upscale Juhu area, was
slated for e-auction due to outstanding dues totaling Rs. 55.99 crores. This
information came to light through a notice published by the Bank of Baroda in
The Times Of India on August 20. The e-auction was scheduled for September 25,
2023.
The notice named Ajay Singh Deol (Sunny Deol) as the
borrower and guarantor, with Vijay Singh Deol (Bobby Deol) and Dharmendra Deol
listed as guarantors. Additionally, Sunny Sounds Pvt. Ltd. was named as the
corporate guarantor. Following the rapid spread of this news, Sunny Deol's
spokesperson issued a statement asserting their commitment to resolving the
matter and urged against speculating further.
In the midst of the speculation regarding a potential
settlement, it has now been revealed that Akshay Kumar, after a meeting with
Sunny Deol on August 20, has taken the initiative to help Sunny Deol in this
crisis. The reported deal involves Akshay Kumar extending a substantial sum to
cover a significant portion of the debt. Sunny Deol would then repay this loan
to Akshay Kumar within an agreed-upon timeframe. The next steps reportedly
involve Sunny Deol engaging with bank officials to move the process forward.
While the exact loan amount from Akshay Kumar has not been officially
confirmed, sources suggest it could be in the range of Rs. 30-40 crores.
A source within the industry commented on the situation,
highlighting how this gesture reflects the sense of unity within the film
fraternity during times of need. The source also lauded Akshay Kumar for his
generosity and willingness to step up for a fellow actor.
Interestingly, both Sunny Deol's film "Gadar 2"
and Akshay Kumar's "OMG 2" were released on the same day, August 11.
Notably, both actors showed mutual support for each other's projects. Akshay
Kumar even featured a scene in "OMG 2" where he sings a classic song
from "Gadar," underlining the camaraderie and goodwill between the
two stars.
